They work with 25 small-scale family farms based within an hour of Pipers Farm in Devon, Dorset, Somerset and Cornwall, believing that is the most sustainable way to produce food.
They have a very wide range of produce including a great range of artisan cheeses. Also a good choice of meat boxes.
Started by an ex banker, Alistair Blair, this is quite the best selection of top quality fish you will find anywhere. Frozen at incredibly low temperatures soon after being caught, the fish is delivered still frozen. Super-generous cuts, expertly filleted. Plenty of treats for special occasions. Lots of nice little bits around the edges, not least their fabulous website. We love them.
Based in Pendle, North Lancashire, this is a top quality ‘regenerative farming’ business, which means working in harmony with nature, supporting the soil, biodiversity and animal welfare. It’s not only kinder to the animals and the planet, but also produces meat that is higher in essential nutrients and healthy fats.
They use no pesticides or chemical fertilizers. All of their produce is Certified Organic and free from gluten, nitrites, nitrates, or any other artificial ingredients or chemicals.
Like me they understand that bones and fats in particular have incredibly high nutritional value, and they even sell a great range of bone broths!
Started by Edward in 2009, their poultry is traditionally farmed, hand-fed and kept in small flocks so that they are truly free to forage for food and roam their Yorkshire pasture.
On top of their natural cereal-based feed, free from additives and growth promoters, they have introduced fresh herbs and are the only producers in the country feeding our poultry on this diet.
By maintaining the highest possible animal welfare standards and enhancing their diet with fresh herbs, their birds have a flavour that is difficult to beat.
A wonderful range of organic foods: meat and fish, fruit and vegetables, cheese and pates, kefir and honey. Family run business. Excellent service - so far they have never been out of stock of any item we have needed. Two farm shops, one in Totnes and one in Tavistock.

Quite the best chocolate in the world (in my view). Willie Harcourt-Cooze buys single estate cacaos direct from the farmers, roasts them in antique ball roasters and makes them into chocolate using just raw cane sugar and natural cocoa butter – no soya lecithin, no vanilla, nothing that gets in the way of the flavour of the bean.
